AMD sfida a Nvidia nel settore High-Performance Computing annunciando la nuova scheda grafica Server FirePro S10000. Questa scheda grafica risulta trovarsi bene in ambito Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) e nelle workstation grafiche con elevate prestazioni.
La FirePro S10000 è stata creata da AMD in segno di contestazione contro Nvidia Tesla, la scheda monta due GPU Tahiti per un totale di 3584 Stream Processor, affiancati da 6 GB di Memoria GDDR5. La scheda ha frequenze default pari a 825 MHz per le GPU e 6 GHz per la memoria con un bus a 384 bit e una banda passante che si avvicina a 480 GB/s; il TDP è settato a 375 Watt. Nel settore dell’alimentazione della scheda notiamo 2 connettori PCI-E a 8 Pin.
Il prezzo di questa nuova scheda grafica si aggira attorno ai 3600 dollari.
